O’Neill Center selected to participate in national tech skills initiative
The O’Neill Center has announced its participation in a nationwide effort aimed at improving digital confidence among older adults.
This initiative, led by the National Council on Aging (NCOA) in collaboration with AT&T, seeks to empower older adults by building skills to spot scams, communicate confidently through email, pay bills online, and more.
As one of only 50 senior centers and community-based organizations selected across the country, O’Neill Center will host a series of in-person workshops to help older adults build confidence in using technology.
These workshops will guide participants through educational programs and AT&T resources, covering topics such as online safety, communication tools, and accessing essential services online.
The goal of this program is to ensure that older adults have access to the knowledge and resources they need to stay connected, informed, and safe while using the Internet. Workshops and support will be available in both English and Spanish, ensuring accessibility for all participants.
Staff will also host in-person office hours to offer one-one-one support to participants.
This effort is part of AT&T’s initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption.
AT&T has committed to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
