(Photo provided) An 1860s Pennsylvania forebay bank barn was one of six barns on the 2017 Friends of Ohio barn tour in Holmes County.

The Friends of Ohio Barns board will host the 25th annual barn tour and conference April 23-25. The event is scheduled to begin April 23 with Campus Martius Museum tours.

There will be trolley rides and walking tours through Mound Cemetery, established in 1801, that feature information about the Adena “Great Mound.”

The events on Thursday will be additional costs from the barn tour Friday and conference Saturday.

The barn tour April 24 will include traveling by chartered bus to five notable and historic barns in Washington County. A docent will provide information during the tour about local history in the area.

The conference April 25 will include barn of the year awards, barn grant recipient announcements and guest speakers along with breakfast and lunch.

Donations for the silent auction April 25 are encouraged, and items requested for donation include items such as books and small antiques.
