Marietta Main Street’s April First Friday: Happy Birthday, Marietta

From staff reports
Marietta’s 238th birthday will be celebrated downtown tonight as part of the April First Friday.
Featuring late shopping, live music, dining and activities, the event runs from 5-9 p.m. with the theme Happy Birthday, Marietta!
Artsbridge, the Boys and Girls Club and the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities will be set up on the Armory lawn as part of the Kids Zone.
Some businesses will mark the occasion with special sales or promotions, including birthday cake being served at Two Peas in a Pod Florist and Wit and Whimzy’s introduction of their exclusive Marietta birthday magnets.
Wit and Whimzy will also host Crafting N’ Scrapping, a local maker who will showcase a variety of wood products and other creations.
Twisted Roots, a Front Street salon, will have pop-up boutique Porter and Co. offering personalized crew necks and tees available to customize on site.
Downtown Bargains will be open late and visitors will find the store has changed, owner Becca Waters said.
“This First Friday is extra special for us as we’ve officially transformed Downtown Bargains into a toy-focused store packed with fun finds and great deals for kids of all ages,” she said.
Evie Schaffer will be performing live at the Town House.
