OneOhio Region 12 committee meeting
The OneOhio Region 12 committee meeting will be at 10 a.m. today held virtually via Teams. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the OneOhio Recovery Foundation Round 2 Grant Applications. OneOhio’s Regional Board meetings are open to the public; however, upcoming agendas may include grantee discussions, which will take place in closed executive session. Loaded baked potato dinner

Help Me Grow Community Baby Shower
The Help Me Grow Community Baby Shower will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Marietta Knights of Columbus Hall, 312 Franklin St., Marietta. This free community event is designed for expectant mothers and families with infants and toddlers, offering information on local resources and services to support families throughout their parenting journey. Attendees can enjoy developmental screenings, car seat safety checks, door prizes, complimentary “mommy massages”, snacks and a variety of giveaways from participating vendors. The Washington County Historical Society will have an open house from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at 346 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, on the second floor.
Steak fry

Mother’s Day Dinner
Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Mother’s Day Dinner at 11 a.m. Sunday at 1975 Stanleyville Road, Whipple. Admission is $12 and $6 for children. Dinner includes baked steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and dessert.

A Mother’s Day Dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, State Route 145, Harriettsville, Lower Salem. A meal is $15 for adults and $7 for children age 10 and under. Belpre City School District special meeting
The President of the Board of Education is calling for a special meeting of the Belpre City School District, which will be held at 11 a.m. May 11, at the Stone Administration/Early Learning Center. This meeting is a special meeting of the Belpre City School District Board of Education in executive session to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion or compensation of a public employee or official, or the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, licensee, or regulated individual, unless the employee, official, licensee, or regular individual requests a public hearing by division (G)(1) of section 121.22 of the Revised code. Matters required to be kept confidential by federal law, federal rules, or state statutes by division (G)(5) of section 121.22 of the Revised Code. There will be no public participation or voted items during this special meeting in the executive session.
“Family Research and Trees” workshop

Marietta Township School Reunion
The Marietta Township School Reunion will be held at noon May 16, at the Marietta Township Community Building in Reno. The reunion includes former students and teachers of Reno, Sand Hill, Goose Run, Jennings Hill, Cornerville, Barker, Yankeeburg and Eight Mile Schools. Chicken, ham, coffee, tea and table service will be provided. Bring a covered dish to share as well as memorabilia of your school and community. The Graysville and Community Volunteer Fire Department will hold a baked steak dinner at 4:30 p.m. May 16, at 38851 State Route 26, Graysville. Meals are $15 and include baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, rolls and dessert.
Community breakfast
Aurelius Masonic Lodge No. 308 will host a community breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17, at the Lower Salem Community Building. in Lower Salem. Donations will be accepted. The menu includes eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage and gravy, toast, coffee, tea, milk and orange juice.
Jigsaw puzzle event
First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fourth St., Marietta, is inviting anyone that loves doing jigsaw puzzles to come and help put four different puzzles together from 2-5 p.m. May 17. You may choose whichever one you want to work on. There is no charge but you are welcome to bring a snack to share. All ages are welcome to come and the church is handicap accessible. ‘Doo-Wop Wed Widing Hood’ Auditions
The Mid-Ohio Valley Junior Players will hold auditions for ‘Doo-Wop Wed Widing Hood’ from 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 17, 18 and 19. Auditions are open to ages 8 through 16. Performances will be July 31, Aug. 1 and 2. Bring a list of your summer activities for scheduling purposes. Auditions will be upstairs in the annex above 225 Putnam Street.
District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission committee meeting
The District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission Fiscal Year 2027 (Round 40) Executive Committee will meet at 10 a.m. May 20, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 2585 Glendale Road, Marietta. The purpose of this meeting is to review the Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Evaluation Criteria prior to submission to the OPWC Integrating Committee for their approval and to appoint/re-appoint members to the Natural Resources Assistance Council (NRAC).

The District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Integrating Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. May 20, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 2585 Glendale Road, Marietta. The purpose of this meeting is to appoint members to the Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Executive and Small Government Committees, elect officers, and approve the timetable and methodology. The District 18 Integrating Committee is a 28-member body of elected officials with an 11-member Executive Committee responsible for making decisions in prioritizing infrastructure projects submitted for funding under the State Capital Improvement and Local Transportation Improvement Programs. The Stanleyville Schools Reunion will be at noon June 6, at the Fearing Township building, 1995 Stanleyville Road. Bring a covered dish for the potluck meal. Drink and table service will provided. Friends of Lawrence School annual school reunion
The Friends of Lawrence School have planned the annual school reunion for June 6, at Frontier High/Middle School. Samuel R. Cook Safetytown program
The Annual Samuel R. Cook Safetytown program will be held from June 15-25, at Phillips School, 300 Pike St., Marietta. This comprehensive nine day safety training program is available free of charge to all area children who will be 5 years old by August 1, or have just completed kindergarten but have not yet attended Safetytown. Professional teachers and well-trained instructors help children learn important safety concepts such as automobile and bicycle safety; water, electrical and chemical hazards; fire safety, pet safety and much more. Children may attend either the morning session from 9 a.m. to noon, or the afternoon session from 1-4 p.m. Applications are available at each local elementary school. Zumba Classes
