Belpre City School District special meeting

The Belpre City Schools board of Education will meet in in special executive session at 11 a.m. today at the Stone Administration/Early Learning Center for a personnel matter.

“Family Research and Trees” workshop

The Washington County Historical Society Archives will hold a “Family Research and Trees” free beginners hands-on computer workshop Saturday at 346 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, in the old Children’s Home, in the north wing, on the second floor. Space is limited, call 740-525-4841.

Marietta Township School Reunion

The Marietta Township school reunion will be held at noon Saturday at the Marietta Township Community Building, Reno, for former students and teachers of Reno, Sand Hill, Goose Run, Jennings Hill, Cornerville, Barker, Yankeeburg and Eight Mile Schools. Chicken, ham, coffee, tea and table service will be provided. Bring a covered dish to share and school and community memorabilia. Committee members will be there at 11 a.m. to greet everyone. Baked steak dinner

The Graysville and Community Volunteer Fire Department will hold a baked steak dinner at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at 38851 State Route 26, Graysville. Meals are $15.

Community breakfast

Aurelius Masonic Lodge No. 308 will host a community breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Lower Salem Community Building. Donations will be accepted.

Jigsaw puzzle event

First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fourth St., Marietta, is inviting anyone that loves doing jigsaw puzzles to come and help put four different puzzles together from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. There is no charge but you are welcome to bring a snack to share. All ages are welcome to come and the church is handicap accessible. Enter through the church parking lot door.

‘Doo-Wop Wed Widing Hood’ Auditions

The Mid-Ohio Valley Junior Players will hold auditions for ‘Doo-Wop Wed Widing Hood’ from 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 17, 18 and 19 upstairs in the annex above 225 Putnam Street.Auditions are open to ages 8 through 16. Performances will be July 31, Aug. 1 and 2. Bring a list of summer activities for scheduling purposes.

District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission committee meeting

The District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission Fiscal Year 2027 (Round 40) Executive Committee will meet at 10 a.m. May 20 at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 2585 Glendale Road, Marietta, to review the Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Evaluation Criteria prior to submission to the Integrating Committee for its approval and to appoint or re-appoint members to the Natural Resources Assistance Council. District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission committee meeting

The District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Integrating Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. May 20, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 2585 Glendale Road, Marietta, to appoint members to the Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Executive and Small Government Committees, elect officers, and approve the timetable and methodology. The District 18 Integrating Committee is a 28-member body of elected officials with an 11-member Executive Committee responsible for making decisions in prioritizing infrastructure projects submitted for funding under the State Capital Improvement and Local Transportation Improvement Programs. Buckeye Hills Regional Council RTPO meeting

The Buckeye Hills Regional Council Regional Transportation Planning Organization Advisory Group will meet at 11:30 a.m. May 20, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council. Buckeye Hills Regional Council is a designated RTPO for Southeast Ohio in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Click It or Ticket Wendy’s event

Wendy’s, 105 Pike St., Marietta, is partnering with the Safe Communities Coalition and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to promote seatbelt awareness at the Click It or Ticket Buckle Up for Safety event from 11 a.m. to noon May 22. Each vehicle with all occupants properly restrained will receive one complimentary Junior Frosty coupon.

Stanleyville School Reunion

The Stanleyville Schools Reunion will be held at noon June 6 at the Fearing Township building, 1995 Stanleyville Road. Bring a covered dish for the potluck meal. Drink and table service will provided. A 50/50 drawing, raffle and door prizes will be available. Bring an item for the raffle table. There will also be a celebration for America’s 250th birthday.

Friends of Lawrence School annual school reunion

The Friends of Lawrence School annual school reunion will be held June 6 at Frontier High/Middle School. Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6 p.m. Each reservation is $25 and includes a baked steak meal made by the Little Muskingum Fire Department. Samuel R. Cook Safetytown program

The Annual Samuel R. Cook Safetytown program will be held from June 15-25 at Phillips School, 300 Pike St., Marietta. The nine-day safety training program is available free of charge to all area children who will be 5 by Aug. 1 or have just completed kindergarten but have not attended Safetytown. Professional teachers and trained instructors help children learn important safety concepts such as automobile and bicycle safety; water, electrical and chemical hazards; fire safety, pet safety and much more. Children may attend either the morning session from 9 a.m. to noon, or the afternoon session from 1-4 p.m. Applications are available at each local elementary school. Registration also is available online at the Marietta Rotary Club Facebook page. Questions may be directed to Kathi Carr at 740-374-6520. The application deadline is May 22. Safetytown is proudly sponsored by the Marietta Noon Rotary Club.

Zumba Classes
