OneOhio Region 12 committee meeting
The OneOhio Region 12 committee will meet at 2 p.m. today virtually via Zoom. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss OneOhio Recovery Foundation Round 2 Grant Applications. OneOhio’s Regional Board meetings are open to the public; however, this agenda includes grantee discussions, which will take place in closed executive session. Oak Grove Fire and EMS ice cream social
The Oak Grove Fire and EMS will be holding its annual ice cream social from 4-9 p.m. Saturday at the fire station, 102 Oak Grove Lane, Marietta. Guests can look forward to barbecue chicken dinners, hot dogs, sloppy joes, pizza, ice cream and desserts. The event will feature the band, Plan B, inflatables, barrel rides for kids and a country store.
Blood drive
Parkersburg Moose Lodge #1118 is hosting a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 3, at 1 Moose Lane, Parkersburg (behind Napoli's off Dupont Road in south Parkersburg). Twenty of 45 available time slots are full, but organizers are looking to fill the remaining slots. Given the recently declared blood supply crisis, organizers encourage potential donors to seek other blood drive opportunities, if the Monday event does not fit their schedule. Joy Story Vacation Bible School
Joy Story Vacation Bible School will be held from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 3-6, at First Baptist Church of Marietta. VBS is a free event and hosted by the NextGen Kids Ministry. Children from three years of age to fifth grade are invited to join Woody, Buzz and the gang to learn more about the life of Jesus through Bible stories, crafts, games and adventures. Buckeye Hills Regional Council public hearing
The Buckeye Hills Regional Council will hold a public hearing from 1-2 p.m. Aug. 5, at the Buckeye Hills Regional Council office, 2585 Glendale Road, Marietta. The hearing will provide an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the draft of the 2027-2030 Strategic Area plan, including a waiver request for Older Americans Act Title III-D funds to support health promotion and disease prevention programs (approximately $20,000) and plan goals and outcomes for 2027-2030. The draft of the 2027-2030 Strategic Area Plan will be available for public review prior to the hearing at www.buckeyehills.org/aging-health under "Recent News."

Barlow Volunteer Fire Department
The Barlow Volunteer Fire Department will be holding its annual ice cream social on Aug. 8. BBQ chicken dinners will be served starting at 4 p.m. There will also be hot dogs, sloppy joes, potato salad, noodles, green beans, as well as ice cream and pies. There are activities for children and adults. A silent auction, a country store and a raffle will also be available. Miss Flame and Mr Spark will be announced at 8 p.m.
Kids' Night Out
Kids’ Night Out will be from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 14, at First Baptist Church of Marietta. This is a free event hosted by the NextGen Kids Ministry. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to join in for an evening of crafts, games and snacks with their friends. Warren High School Class of 2001 25-year class reunion
The Warren High School Class of 2001 will hold its 25-year class reunion from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Aug. 15, at The Galley in Marietta. There will be light appetizers and a cash bar. Cost is $25 per person. GriefShare program
The GriefShare program will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 20 through Nov. 12, with a special program at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 19 called "Surviving the Holidays". This 13-week program will be offered at Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta. Each week, you will view a 30-minute video filled with helpful guidance, discuss grief-related issues, and gain personal recovery tips through your workbook. Contact the church for more information

Zumba Classes
