The Oak Grove Explorers 4-H Club held their meeting over Zoom. Community Service Committee Member and Vice President Melina Matics introduced a competition. The club was divided into two “families” with Melina Matics and Bijou Burgardt serving as the “parents.” The two “families” earn points based off how many members attend community service activities and meetings.
The club also is planning to donate food to the Gospel Mission Food Pantry. Canned goods are going to be donated at a collection day, the date of which will be decided at the next meeting.
Nora Richmond and Dallas Bolen gave presentations. Nora presented a health and safety report on how to protect yourself from ticks. One of her tips was to walk on the path when hiking and avoid undergrowth. Dallas Bolen gave her project demonstration on quilting. She spoke about what mistakes she made while making her first quilt and what she learned from them.
