Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley announced $45,000 in donations to Mountaineer Food Bank and Southeast Ohio Foodbank to assist with their fight against food insecurity this holiday season in Tyler, Wood and Washington Counties.

Of that, $20,000 is being donated to Mountaineer Food Bank to be used for seven food pantries that support Tyler and Wood Counties in West Virginia.

The other $25,000 is being donated to Southeast Ohio Foodbank to be used for nine food pantries that support Washington County in Ohio.

"Hunger is a hidden crisis that has only been made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic. It impacts families, individuals, and children, leaving the most vulnerable among us with the inability to meet the basic need of putting food on the table," said Mountaineer Food Bank's Strategic Gifts Officer, Laura Tolley. "We're thrilled to have the continued support of Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley. Through our partnership, we can better serve our neighbors in need this holiday season."

Ben Isham, Grants and Contracts Manager of Southeast Ohio Foodbank, said "we would like to thank Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley for their continued commitment in the fight against hunger in Washington County. These funds will help our member food pantries keep their shelves stocked to feed their communities."

"There is no better time than the holidays to give back to your community. This donation provides more than 200,000 meals for the Mid-Ohio Valley. We are thankful for the support Mountaineer Food Bank and Southeast Ohio Foodbank provide our local food pantries. Also, we are very thankful for the supporters of Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley, who make donations like this possible," said Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley Treasurer, Kevin Eagan.
