Reports/Ohio State Highway Patrol
¯ Briley May Steele, 17, of 3156 State Route 555, Little Hocking, was northbound May 1 on Ohio 7 in Warren Township when her 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch. She was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.
¯ Derek Alan Wenzel, 30, of 104 Morningside Drive, Marietta, was southbound May 6 on Ohio 7, Marietta Township, in the left lane. Conner Lane Thompson, 16, of 760 Market St., Clarington, was turning northbound on Ohio 7 from a private drive. A third car was southbound on Ohio 7 in the right lane, slowing to turn right into a private drive. Thompson failed to yield in his 2016 Toyota Tacoma from the private drive and was struck by Wenzel, who was driving a 2012 Ford F-150 owned by Monongahela Power Company of Connellsville, Pa. Vehicles for both Wenzel and Thompson slid off the right side of the roadway. Thompson was cited for failing to yield.
¯ Justin D. Bond, 40, of 1215 Federal Road, Little Hocking, was backing eastbound onto Township Road 15 in Belpre Township pushed off the left side of the roadway. Bond was cited for failing to yield.
¯ Jeromy Allan Hewitt, 40, of 300 Broadway Ave., New Matamoras, was traveling westbound on County Road 14 in Independence Township when he lost control of his 2015 Kia Soul. His vehicle crossed the centerline in the roadway and traveled off the left side of the roadway. He then struck a ditch, causing his vehicle to overturn. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.

¯ A deputy was patrolling Ohio 7, Pioneer Township, Monday when he observed a silver Acura on the shoulder of the roadway bearing Ohio registration. There appeared to be a male subject resting his head on the steering wheel. The deputy identified the owner as Stoney Day.
A traffic stop was initiated and while approaching the vehicle, the man appeared to be passed out in the driver seat of the running car. Stoney Day was breathing, however not responding to attempts to wake him.
A black container with "hemp flower" on it was noted on the passenger seat. Due to the circumstances of the driver being unresponsive, the container was checked, finding it to contain a crystal-like substance. Squad members were dispatched to the scene and were successful in waking Day.
Day was transported for medical treatment. A citation was issued to Day, 41, of 43094 State Route 124, Racine, for physical control.
¯ A deputy began an investigation Monday in Belpre Township in reference to catalytic converters being stolen off of vehicle(s).
¯ A deputy was on patrol Monday on Ohio 550 in Warren Township when he observed a passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was confirmed traveling at 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. A citation was issued to Esteban Ruben Workman Miller, 22, of 14324 State Route 550, Fleming, for speed.
¯ A deputy was on patrol Monday on Ohio 550 in Barlow Township when he observed a passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was confirmed traveling at 75 mph in a 40 mph zone. A citation was issued to Troy Allen Johnson, 25, of 2815 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, for speed.
¯ Information was received Monday regarding Crystal Evans and Jordan Stewart loudly cussing, screaming and fighting outside the apartment complex in New Matamoras. A deputy approached the area and was able to hear the screaming. At the conclusion of the investigation Crystal Leann Evans, 21, and Jordan Ray Stewart, 22, of 1308 William Ave., Apt. 4D, New Matamoras, were issued citations for disorderly conduct.
¯ A deputy was patrolling Monday on Ohio 7, Warren Township. A pick-up truck was observed committing several marked lanes violations. A traffic stop was conducted, finding the driver to be David W. Ramage II.
Ramage slurred his speech while talking and admitted to having two beers. Ramage was offered standard field sobriety tests, which he did poorly on. David W Ramage II, 52, of 1790 Rosenbush Road, Newport, was placed under arrest and charged with OVI, weapons while intoxicated and marked lanes.
Arrests/Washington County
The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:
¯ Matthew James Mohr, 31, of Marietta, was arrested for OVI, driving under the influence of alcohol, having weapons while under disability, all felonies; and driving under OVI suspension and assured clear distance, both misdemeanors.
¯ Tabitha Ann Dunn, 42, of Cutler, was arrested for contempt of court, a misdemeanor.
¯ Shawn Seyler McClead, 29, of Belpre, was arrested for contempt of court, a misdemeanor.
¯ Kelsey Grace Thompson, 21, of Marietta, was arrested for loose dog, a misdemeanor.
¯ Delano Pierre Best, 40, last known address of South Point, was arrested for aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor.
