The GFWC Belpre Woman's Club is hosting a "Meet the Candidates" event at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Belpre Elementary School gymnasium, at 2000 Rockland Ave., Belpre.
This event is open to the public and will be an opportunity for candidates for Belpre City government to meet local constituents. The event forum will allow approximately 3 minutes for each candidate to state who they are, what office they are seeking, and give them an opportunity to let the citizens of Belpre know why they are seeking public office.
Following individual introductions and statements, a Q and A session will be held. Questions will be submitted in writing. The moderator will be Roger Sheppard, formerly vice president and general manager of WTAP-TV. Helping to facilitate this segment will be members of the GFWC Belpre Woman's Club. Candidates may stay and meet with constituents personally at the close of the event.
Members of the GFWC Belpre Woman's Club would like to encourage everyone to come out and hear what the candidates have to say and learn more about them and their goals for the future.
