The Churchtown Busy Bunch 4-H Club had a special meeting on November 5, 2023; it was a combination service work meeting and an awards and recognition potluck meeting. Both meetings were for separate special events. First the club met at the Appletree Assisted Living Facility in Beverly. There the club met and entertained the clients. Former 4-H member Maddie Treadway gave a demonstration on Dog Tricks with her two border collies. These dogs were trained in both agility and obedience and performed both separately and as a pair. The club members then worked with the residents on two crafts-a Thanksgiving place mat and a Christmas doorknob decoration. The club also delivered some adult bibs sewed and donated by club members.
The second part of the meeting was held in a local Beverly church basement. While adults laid out the potluck, the club members played Monkey in The Middle. The potluck was enjoyed by all and then the awards part of the program started. Advisor Kronberg gave a gift and a thank you for each member's contribution to the club's success; these events included committee work, camp or fair board work, booth and window service work and leadership work. Advisor Roush gave a participation letter and a gift to each Cloverbud and then advisor Wesel read a poem for each of the Cloverbud graduates who will be moving on to become full 4-H members. Advisor Treadway returned score sheets and premiums to the members. The official meeting only included the pledges with Austin Seaman leading the American pledge and Blake Nibert leading the 4-H pledge.
Under advisor's thank you comments were thank you to the parents, to some grandparents, and to all members for the year's work.
