¯ Alex Eugene Erb, 18, of 450 DAV Road, Whipple, was traveling southbound Nov. 29 on County Road 8 in Salem Township when his 2000 Toyota Camry traveled off the right side of the roadway. He went over an embankment, overturned and struck a tree. He was taken by Salem EMS to Selby General Hospital with suspected minor injuries. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.
¯ A two car accident occurred Dec. 3 on Ohio 339 in Barlow Township. Patricia M. Rose, 54, of 5480 State Route 339, Vincent, and Shawn Michael Smith, 32, of 808 Walnut St., Belpre, were traveling southbound on Ohio 339. Rose's 2017 GMC Sierra came to a stop in traffic, while Smith failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead in his 2016 Dodge Charger, striking Rose's vehicle. Smith then struck the guardrail. He was cited for not maintaining an assured clear distance ahead.
¯ A 2007 Honda Ridgeline registered to Herbert L. Cossin of 45 N. Franklin St., Amesville, was southbound Dec. 4 on Township Road 15 in Belpre Township. It crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a culvert. The trooper who responded said the vehicle was abandoned, sitting partially in the northbound lane with heavy damage to the front left side. Multiple attempts to contact Cossin have been unsuccessful.
¯ Brady Dean Goddard, 28, of 406 Fulton St., Marietta, was westbound Dec. 6 on Township Road 456 in Warren Township. Kylie Nicole Ahart, 27, of 1418 Barth Road, Belpre, was eastbound on Township Road 456. Ahart failed to yield half the roadway with her 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, striking the 2019 Chevrolet 6500XD owned by Shea Towing LLC that Goddard was driving. Ahart went off the right edge of the roadway before striking a ditch. She was cited for not yielding half of the roadway.
¯ Maria Carver, 21, of 205 Sheldon Ave. Apt. 4, Marietta, was westbound Dec. 6 on Ohio 550 in Warren Township. She drove her 2005 Ford off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. She was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.
¯ Tyler A. Jordan, 16, of 8700 Wood Road, Chesterhill, was southbound Dec. 7 on County Road 83 in Homer Township. He drove his 2013 Subaru Outback off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.
¯ Grant Elliott Harper, 25, of 250 Rowland Lane, Cutler, was eastbound Dec. 12 on Ohio 550 in Warren Township when his 2004 Chevrolet Impala crossed the center line, went off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.
¯ Daniel Donald Richardson, 71, of 4806 N. Dugan Road NW, McConnelsville, and Maeson Joshua Long, 18, of 2232 State Route 83, Beverly, were southbound Dec. 13 on Ohio 339 in Watertown Township. Richardson stopped his 2013 Honda Accord in traffic. Long failed to stop his 2001 Toyota Tundra, striking Richardson. Long was cited for not maintaining an assured clear distance ahead.
