¯ A patrolman responded to Dave's Auto Sales, 705 Virginia St., Feb. 1 in reference to a missing dealer plate. An investigation was initiated and the plate was entered as stolen.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Feb. 1 to the Kroger's Shopping Center in regards to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was learned that a man and woman had been arguing, with the reportee thinking the woman was being assaulted. A concerned citizen attempted to intervene, which angered the man, causing him to become involved in a verbal altercation with the concerned citizen.
¯ An officer investigated a theft complaint Feb. 1 at Walmart. Stevan M. Fyffe was charged with theft of $41.52 of merchandise. Fyffe was issued a Rule 4 for theft in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.02 and was released after being served a personal recognizance bond.
¯ An officer was dispatched Feb. 1 to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. Anthony Kincaid was arrested and released on a personal recognizance bond. He had removed merchandise valued at $11.97 and concealed the items on himself and attempted to leave the store, passing the last point of sale.
¯ An officer initiated a traffic stop Thursday on a silver Honda Civic for fictitious and expired registration. While speaking with the female operator, she confessed to having a small amount of methamphetamine on her person. The item was seized and will be sent to BCI for chemical analysis. Charges for drug possession are pending the results.
¯ Units investigated a death on arrival Sunday at a Ferguson Street residence. Upon arrival, Daniel Allen Taylor, 36, was found to be unresponsive. The Marietta Fire Department arrived on scene and rendered medical attention. Taylor was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital, where he was declared deceased. An autopsy was requested and the coroner was contacted
