Reports/Ohio State Highway Patrol
¯ A two-vehicle crash occurred Feb. 16 on County Road 30 in Dunham Township. Tracey L. Goodfellow, 37, of 5895 Federal Road, Coolville, and Benjamin N. Elder Jr., 65, of 602 McGill Road, Vincent, were eastbound on County Road 30. Goodfellow’s 2019 Chevrolet Traverse made a wide turn to go southbound into a private drive. Elder passed Goodfellow on the right in his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado and was struck by Goodfellow. No citations were issued.
¯ Shelley L. Petty, 65, of 4875 Parkwood Drive, Berlin, was traveling northbound Feb. 17 on Township Road 1246 in Marietta Township when her 2015 Jeep Cherokee veered off the right side of the roadway and down an embankment. She was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.
¯ Chad A. Norton, 38, of 27830 State Route 7, Marietta, was westbound Saturday on Township Road 1284 in Belpre Township. He failed to negotiate a curve and his 1988 GMC C/K pickup traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.
¯ Adam R. McKnight, 26, of 5640 Waterford Road, Marietta, was northwest Saturday on County Road 4 in Muskingum Township. He was negotiating a right curve in his 2015 GMC Sierra when he swerved to avoid a deer. He crossed the centerline and drove off the left side of the roadway. He then struck an embankment, a guardrail and a ditch. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.
¯ Dominick R. Oliver, 25, of 7765 Dalzell Road, Lower Salem, was northbound Sunday on County Road 25 in Lawrence Township. As he was negotiating a left curve, his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado slid off the right side of the roadway before striking a guardrail and a ditch. He was cited for driving an unsafe vehicle.

¯ An officer responded Feb. 15 to 301 Camp Ave. in reference to a stolen vehicle. The complainant stated that he believed a relative stole his 2012 Ford Focus. The vehicle was located the next day on the west side.
¯ An officer was dispatched Feb. 15 to a Third Street residence in reference to a dead on arrival. A 63-year-old woman was found deceased from apparent natural causes.
¯ A patrolman was contacted by the Marietta HIgh School vice-principal in reference to a male student bringing a brownie suspected to be laced with marijuana and giving pieces of the brownie to several students. A 15-year-old student will be charged with trafficking and two will be charged with drug abuse.
¯ Units were dispatched Feb. 16 to the Colonial Laundromat, 130 N. Seventh St. in regards to a possible assault. Upon arrival, units made contact with the victim, who advised she was assaulted by the juvenile suspect. The juvenile suspect was arrested for assault and transported to the Washington County Juvenile Center.
¯ Units of the Marietta Police and Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded Feb. 16 to Harmar Hill in reference to a runaway juvenile. After searching, the juvenile was located in distress and transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
¯ Units responded Feb. 16 to Over the Moon Pizza in reference to a man harassing customers and causing a disturbance. The man left on foot prior to arrival. He was located a short while later near Second and Greene streets carrying an open container. He was identified as Michael Wayne Grahame. He was found to be highly intoxicated, spat at officers and was later arrested for disorderly conduct cease and desist. After being transported to the Washington County Jail, it was learned that Grahame attempted to destroy a small baggie of marijuana while secured in the rear of a police cruiser. He was also charged with tampering with evidence.
¯ A patrolman conducted a traffic stop Feb. 17 in the 700 block of Greene Street. A K-9 was used and a positive indication was made on the passenger rear door. The rear passenger, Matthew C. Berga, 24, was found to have a warrant and was arrested. Suspected methamphetamine was found during the search and further charges will be pursued upon the receipt of the drug testing results.
¯ A patrolman was contacted Feb. 17 by the Marietta High School principal in reference to a juvenile girl missing from school grounds. She was later found at her residence. Discipline will be handled by parents.
¯ An officer responded Friday to Beverly-Center Elementary School and met with school staff, along with a juvenile in reference to a child abuse incident that occurred Feb. 17 inside Marietta City limits. At the conclusion of the investigation, Joshua Clay Egnor was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to jail.
¯ Units were dispatched Saturday to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting complaint. A woman was found to have taken $54 in items from the store without paying for them. A summons will be completed for her to appear before the Marietta Municipal Court for theft and criminal trespass.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to 300 Ridgewood Court in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. The complainant advised his vehicle’s rear window had been damaged overnight. The case remains under investigation.
¯ A deputy began an investigation Feb. 15 into a theft in Belpre Township.
The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:
¯ Vanessa Ann Goins, 37, of Amesville, was arrested for aggravated possession of drugs and aggravated trafficking in drugs, both felonies.
¯ Renee Ann Kemper, 67, of Woodsfield, was arrested for obstructing justice, a misdemeanor.
¯ Christian Lee Arnold, 21, of Washington, W.Va., was arrested for a probation violation, a misdemeanor.
