¯ A patrolman began a theft investigation in excess of $1,000 on Feb. 8. This case remains under investigation.
¯ A patrolman responded Feb. 8 to Walmart in reference to a theft. After the investigation, the patrolman learned that clothing items were ticket switched for a value of $187.28. The patrolman will request a summons be issued to two suspects.
¯ Units were dispatched Feb. 9 to Hackbarth Delivery Services at 1500 Greene St. in reference to a delivery driver observing someone in the closed business. On arrival, the K-9 was deployed and found Melaine Blake hiding between appliances in the rear of the building. Blake was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools.
¯ An officer was dispatched Feb. 9 to Kroger, 40 Acme St., in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with store personnel, who advised a woman had taken items from the store and under rang at the self-checkout. The case remains under further investigation.
¯ An officer was contacted Feb. 9 by the Marietta Elementary School principal in reference to a student who had assaulted a teacher. Statements were taken and a summons will be sent to the Washington County Juvenile Court for the charge of assault.
¯ A patrolman investigated a theft Thursday of a package that was delivered by mail to 623 Fourth St. The package was stolen on Feb. 9 by two juveniles. They were identified and charges will be filed through juvenile court,
¯ An officer responded Feb. 9 to Walmart for a female shoplifter who had switched tags and failed to scan items totaling $69.85. Upon arrival and after investigation, the officer identified the woman as Courtney Nicole Clayton. She was arrested for theft and criminal trespass and was transported to the Washington County Jail.
¯ An officer observed two vehicles parked behind 502 Pike St. Thursday. During a vehicle registration check, it was found one of the vehicles had been reported as stolen. Officers arrested Dustin Wade for receiving stolen property and drug paraphernalia.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Thursday to Marietta Municipal Court in reference to a theft that occurred at CVS. Crystal Williams came to court under the influence and with stolen property in her possession. The investigation showed she had stolen $191.47 in merchandise from CVS prior to coming to court. She was arrested on contempt and theft charges.
¯ Units were dispatched to 401 Matthew St. Friday in reference to a patient assaulting another patient. Upon arrival, they met with ER staff and the victim, who advised Devonn Curtis had grabbed him because he thought he had a gun. After investigation, it was determined that an assault had taken place. Curtis was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail.
¯ A patrolman attempted a traffic stop Saturday in the 500 block of Pike Street. The driver fled and the patrolman initiated pursuit of the vehicle. The pursuit traveled into West Virginia. The operator abandoned the vehicle and fled into the woods near Red Rock Drive. Through an investigation, the operator was identified as James Wallace. He was arrested the next day for failure to comply.
¯ An officer stopped a maroon Buick for a traffic violation Saturday. The registered owner/driver of the vehicle, identified as David Allen Rummer, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest through Belmont County, with a statewide pickup radius. Rummer was arrested without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail to be held until pick up by Belmont County authorities.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to Walmart in reference to a theft. The patrolman learned that the suspect went through the self-checkout with a blanket worth $13.81. The suspect took a price tag off another item and held it over the blanket price tag as he scanned it. The patrolman is requesting a warrant be issued for theft.
¯ An officer stopped a gray Toyota 4-Runner Monday in the 500 block of Pike Street in reference to an expired plate. During the stop, the officer found a loaded firearm in a pocket of the passenger's seat, facing the driver. The driver was advised that charges were being forwarded to the prosecutor for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
¯ Units responded Monday to 711 Ninth St. in reference to an assault which occurred between two juvenile girls after they got off the school bus in the 800 block of Washington Street. The case is under investigation.
¯ A patrolman responded to Walmart Monday in reference to a theft complaint. After the investigation, Emily Brooke Knotts was arrested for theft and released on a personal recognizance bond.

¯ A call was received Friday from Wood County 911 advising an unknown subject was advising of an incident of violence was occurring at a Belpre Township location. Deputies responded to the location and met with subject(s) reporting an incident involving James E. Venham. Venham spoke with a lieutenant and in conclusion, James Edward Venham, 43, of Little Hocking, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.
¯ Deputies responded Saturday to a residence on Upper Fifteenmile Creek Road in Liberty Township. The call was in reference to a welfare check of an individual that had stated they were with Homer M. Fry. During the investigation, it was determined that Fry had hid the victim's cell phone, or destroyed it, to keep them from calling for help. Fry then admitted to hiding the phone. Homer Melvin Fry, 56, was placed under arrest for disrupting public services and domestic violence.
¯ A lieutenant began an investigation Saturday into a stolen utility trailer from Belpre Township.
¯ A deputy responded Saturday to Sheets Run Road, Grandview Township, to a domestic dispute. It was discovered that Bruce Leroy Addlesburger, 35, of New Matamoras, had committed acts of violence and was placed under arrest and processed into the Washington County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.
¯ A lieutenant began an investigation Saturday in Newport Township of two walnut trees being cut down.

¯ Dustin Dwain Wade, 34, of Walker, W.Va., was arrested for receiving stolen property and probation violation, both felonies, and drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
¯ Ashlee Nicole Haught, 29, of Marietta, was arrested for aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.
¯ Paul Charles Wright, 34, of Marietta, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.
¯ Devonne NMN Curtis, 62, of Marietta, was arrested for assault, a misdemeanor.
¯ Alexis Leeanne Clatterbuck, 22, of Vincent, was arrested for probation violation, a felony.
¯ Justin Tyler Sprague, 26, of Newark, was arrested for aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.
¯ James Edward Venham, 43, of Belpre, was arrested for probation violation and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.
¯ Homer Melvin Fry, 56, of Wingett Run, was arrested for domestic violence a misdemeanor, and disrupting public service, a felony.
¯ Bruce Leroy Addlesburger, 35, of New Matamoras, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
¯ David Allen Rummer, 58, of Marietta, was arrested for possessing drug abuse instruments.
¯ Nichelle Rose Kephart, 33, of Richlands, Va., was arrested for obstructing official business and theft, both misdemeanors.
