¯ A patrolman responded Feb. 22 to South 5th Automotive, 101 Pike St., and began an investigation into two recent vehicle sales. This case is under investigation.
¯ An officer was dispatched Feb. 22 to Lowe's, 842 Pike St., in reference to a theft. Multiple items, valued at more than $1,000, were taken without paying by an older man. This case remains under investigation.
¯ An officer investigated an assault complaint Feb. 22 on Franklin Street. After an investigation, Brandon Bruce was arrested for domestic violence, domestic violence by threat, aggravated menacing and weapons under disability.
¯ Units were dispatched Feb. 22 to Ingleside Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival and after investigation, it was learned that a juvenile had threatened his father with a weapon.
As a result, the juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the juvenile detention center.
¯ Units were dispatched Feb. 23 to Dawes Circle in reference to a death on arrival. On their arrival, they learned that 85-year-old Ada Hinton had passed away in her sleep.
Hinton had been having some health issues. The coroner was contacted and the body was released to McClure's Funeral Home.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Feb. 23 to the Marietta Adventure Store in reference to a stolen bicycle being brought into the store. Steven Boice was arrested for receiving stolen property.
¯ Units were dispatched Feb. 24 to 1101 Gilman Ave. in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who advised he did not wish to pursue charges.
The victim was taken to the police station and released to family members.
¯ Michael William Martin was taken into custody Feb. 24 in the 500 block of Warren Street for a probation violation warrant.
A custodial search incident to arrest revealed a syringe in Martin's left front pants pocket.
He was transported to jail on the warrant and charged with possessing drug abuse instruments.
¯ An officer investigated the report of a woman shoplifter on Feb. 24.
The shoplifter failed to scan several items at the self-checkout, totaling $71.56. The woman will be summoned into court for the charge of theft.
¯ A patrolman responded Feb. 24 to 111 N. Hart St. Apt. 7 in reference to an unruly juvenile.
After the investigation and speaking to the juvenile's mother, unruly charges will be sent down to the juvenile court.
¯ An officer was dispatched to Walmart on Saturday in reference to a shoplifting.
Upon arrival, the officer made contact with loss prevention, who provided video footage of the incident. The officer arrested Marissa Sites for theft.
The theft totalled a loss of $345.65 in miscellaneous items.
¯ A patrolman responded Sunday to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting.
After an investigation, it was learned the suspect failed to scan $67.22 worth of household and over the counter medication.
The suspect will be summoned for theft.
¯ A patrolman responded Sunday to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. After the investigation, it was learned the suspect stole food items. A summons for theft will be issued to the suspect.
¯ An officer responded Sunday to 240 Hillcrest Drive in reference to an intoxicated man leaving in his vehicle and threatening to harm himself. William Nickles was later located driving a motor vehicle. He was arrested for obstructing official business and OVI.
¯ A patrolman investigated an incident Monday of the gas tank on a 2015 Ford van being drilled with an apparent attempt to steal gas at Marietta Paint and Janitorial.
¯ Units were dispatched Monday to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, units located Christopher Streight past the last point of sale with items concealed on his person. He also admitted to stealing a drone days prior at the same location. He was arrested on two counts of theft and released on a personal recognizance bond.

¯ While completing another investigation on Feb. 24, a deputy was notified of a stolen lottery ticket.
After completing the investigation, the deputy filed for a summons against Ashley D. Parsons, 39, of 304 Third St., Lowell, on a charge of theft.
¯ A suitcase was turned in to a deputy Friday that was found sitting along the roadway.
¯ It was reported Sunday that Joseph David Knutson was on Railroad Street in Salem Township, destroying things and threatening to set the residence on fire.
A verbal altercation had taken place, which turned into threats. Joseph David Knutson, 34, of Railroad Street, Whipple, was arrested for domestic violence and processed into the Washington County Jail where he tested .008 PBT.
¯ A deputy investigated the theft of coins from Decatur Township on Monday.
¯ A lieutenant responded Monday to 250 Masonic Park Lane, Marietta Township, to a 911 hang up.
It was discovered that Amber Starcher and Dustin Cunningham were involved in a domestic disturbance.
After completing the investigation, a summons was requested through Marietta Municipal Court for Starcher and Cunningham on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Arrests/Washington County
The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:
¯ William Elliot Nickles, 30, address unknown, was arrested for OVI alcohol, improper lane usage and obstructing official business, all misdemeanors.
¯ Daniel Blake Debellis, 38, of Parkersburg, was arrested for aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.
