¯ Amanda Warner and Joe Flaherty came on station March 28 to file a complaint against an individual for breaking a protection order. A warrant was requested for James Warner and he was arrested Tuesday for a felony protection order violation.
¯ A detective with the Marietta Police Department contacted the Marietta Fire Department on March 29 after locating a woman who appeared to be experiencing a medical emergency. The Marietta Fire Department responded and transported the woman to the hospital.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched March 30 to Taco Bell, 342 Pike St., in reference to a man who had used a stolen debit card. Earlier in the same day, the same victim called and reported the card was used at Marietta Kroger. While searching the area of Pike Street and Greene Street, officers located the man in the 700 block of Greene Street and learned that the card had just been used again at the Seventh Street Speedway. The card was located after the man threw it. Damion Anthony Brown was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property and three counts of misuse of a credit/debit card.
¯ A patrolman was contacted March 30 by the vice principal of Marietta High School in reference to an assault that occurred in the fourth floor stairwell involving two female juvenile students. No injuries were reported and one girl will be summoned into juvenile court.
¯ An officer responded Friday to Marietta Municipal Court in reference to counterfeit bills being passed.
¯ Officers assisted the Marietta Fire Department on Saturday in the parking lot of 740 Social, 181 Front St., with a man suffering from a medical condition.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched to Quality Inn, 700 Pike St., in reference to a woman there that was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Amy Lynn Smithberger was arrested for obstructing, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.
¯ An officer initiated an investigation into a stolen license plate from the parking area of 240 Hillcrest Drive. The plate has been entered into the Law Enforcement Automated Data System.
¯ A patrolman responded Sunday to the 700 block of Greene Street in reference to a vehicle having a window shot out by an air gun.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to the Marietta Police Department in regards to a criminal damaging report. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the complainant who advised she was driving westbound in the 700 block of Greene Street when her vehicle was shot by a BB gun that kids were shooting near the roadway. Officers made contact with the juveniles and their guardians. Charges will be sent to juvenile court.
¯ An officer responded Monday to 1007 Orchard St. in reference to a man abusing a dog. The officer spoke to three witnesses who advised they saw a man kicking and punching his dog. The investigation is ongoing.
¯ A patrolman conducted a traffic stop Monday in the Kroger parking lot. During the stop, the patrolman observed a holster on the hip of the passenger. The passenger was asked about weapons and repeatedly denied any weapons being in the vehicle.
The passenger became extremely nervous and admitted a firearm was in the vehicle and a revolver was retrieved from the passenger door pocket. The revolver was found to have a filed serial number and was taken for evidence. The passenger was eventually identified as Jonathan Carl Forshey and he was arrested for improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, having weapons under disability, possessing a defaced firearm, and obstructing official police business.

¯ A deputy began an investigation March 20 in Salem Township regarding a theft.
¯ A sergeant began an investigation March 30 in Muskingum Township regarding a financial scam.
¯ A deputy began an investigation March 31 into out buildings being entered in Marietta Township.
¯ A deputy met Friday with AT&T representatives regarding telecommunication cable stolen from a pole in Dunham Township.
¯ A deputy issued a citation Saturday to Brandon P. Hayes, 29385 Belpre Pike Road, Coolville, for 80 mph in a 60 mph zone; Scott A Wheeler, 3227 School House Road, Little Hocking, for 78 mph in a 60 mph zone; Zachary A Cox, 16550 Plantsville Road, Amesville, for 76 mph in a 60 mph zone; and Ace D. Staats, 1420 Braun Road, Belpre, for 80 mph in a 60 mph zone.
¯ Units responded Saturday to Straight Run Road, Beverly, Adams Township, to a complaint of two German Shepherds running loose.
It was learned the dogs belong to Keith Thomas, 530 Straight Run Road, Beverly. Contact was made with Keith Thomas, where officers observed two German Shepherds inside a pen.
Thomas stated when he went to his mailbox this date he was accompanied by his two German Shepherds. A summons is being requested for Kevin A. Thomas on a charge of failure to restrain.
¯ A deputy began an investigation Saturday in New Matamoras in reference to vehicle(s) being damaged.
¯ A sergeant responded Saturday to the Lowell Dollar General, Adams Township, to a report that Thomas Joy was in the store and there were currently active warrants on file for his arrest.
The sergeant arrived and observed Joy, along with another subject, and advised Joy he was being arrested on the outstanding warrants.
Joy was asked if he had anything on him that he shouldn't have, and he advised he was unsure, and took off running.
Joy ran through the store and at the door struck the automatic door, causing him to fall to the ground. Joy was detained at that time and patted down.
A white powdery substance was located in a pocket along with syringes.
Thomas Dean Joy, 32, of 1195 East Branch Road, Lowell, was placed under arrest on the active warrants and charged with possessing drug abuse instruments.

¯ Amy Suzzanne Books, 35, of Marietta, was arrested for a probation violation, a felony.
¯ Jody Lynn Wright, 42, of Lowell, was arrested for contempt of court, a misdemeanor.
¯ Thomas Dean Joy, 32, of Lowell, was arrested for aggravated possession of drugs, illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse, detention mental health facility, possession of drugs, all felonies, resisting arrest, possessing drug abuse instruments, contempt of court and theft, all misdemeanor.
¯ Amy Lynn Smithberger, 34, of Marietta, was arrested for obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass, all misdemeanors.
¯ Matthew Scott Salla, 27, of Massillon, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
¯ Marlena Jean Lawson, 26, of Marietta, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor, breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools, both felonies.
¯ Randal Eric Bettinger, 23, of Belpre, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor, possessing criminal tools and breaking and entering, both felonies.
