¯ A patrolman responded to the 200 block of S. Sixth Street April 12 in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. Officers made contact with the complainant who advised he found multiple Marietta City owned trees damaged in the park. The case remains under further investigation.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched April 12 to Bridgeport Equipment, 15 Acme St., in reference to a theft report. An unknown man was observed on CCTV taking a flashlight past the last point of sale without paying for the item. The case remains under further investigation.
¯ An officer responded April 12 to Walmart in reference to a theft. After the investigation, it was found that a woman concealed a flashlight valued at $16.88 and attempted to leave. She will be summoned for theft and criminal trespass.
¯ An officer was dispatched April 12 to St. Mary Catholic Church, 500 Fourth St., in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. The officer arrested Stephen Gill for criminal trespassing. He was taken to the Washington County Jail and a probation holder was placed on him.
¯ On April 13, an officer investigated the theft of a golf cart from Bridgeport Equipment that occurred in the early morning hours of April 8. The investigation is ongoing.
¯ A patrolman responded April 13 to Walmart in reference to someone attempting to steal property. Upon arrival, the patrolman made contact with the individual and found him in possession of items out of their packages inside a backpack. The man was found to have been trespassed by Walmart in the past. A summons will be requested for theft and criminal trespassing.
¯ Units responded to a Third Street address April 13 in reference to a suicidal woman. The woman was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
¯ Units were dispatched Thursday to 628 Eighth St. in reference to an out of control man. Upon arrival, officers encountered the man, who began rambling about his aunt being on the roof of the house. The man ran inside with his 3-year-old son and locked the door. The man then busted a window out of a second story window. Forced entry was made and Joseph Wayne Fowler was placed under arrest. He was charged with disorderly conduct cease and desist, aggravated menacing, resisting arrest and endangering children.
¯ A report of a possible firearms offense involving the transfer of a firearm was reported Sunday. An investigation was conducted and it was found that no violation had taken place.
¯ A patrolman arrested Stephen W. Gill Sunday for criminal trespass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 500 N. Fourth St., Marietta.
¯ An officer was dispatched Thursday to Marietta Police headquarters in regards to a theft. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the victim, who advised sometime two days prior, his license plate was stolen from his vehicle. At this time, it is unknown whether it was lost or stolen and where it occurred.
¯ An officer responded Thursday to 335 Second St. in reference to a damaged vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer found that a 2014 Toyota had been entered and that someone stole the catalytic converter from it.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Thursday to 501 ¢ Washington St. in reference to a theft of a security system that the post office had delivered on April 10. The post office had left the package in an inside hallway and it was now missing.
¯ A patrolman conducted a traffic stop Thursday in the Lafayette Center. During the stop, a strong odor of marijuana was detected and a juvenile was identified in the rear seat. After the investigation, it was learned that the juvenile was in possession of two types of illegal drugs. The juvenile will be summoned on charges through the juvenile court.
¯ An officer went Saturday to a loud music complaint at 114 Sunset Drive. While there, Eric Grabow was arrested for disorderly conduct cease and desist and was released on a personal recognizance bond.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Friday to the 300 block of Wooster Street in reference to an individual finding a bag with drug paraphernalia on a bench with no one around. The bag was collected by officers and entered into property for destruction.
