¯ A patrolman was dispatched April 26 to 710 Colegate Drive in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Washington State Community College security and the victims. The case remains under further investigation.
¯ A patrolman was contacted April 26 by the Marietta High School vice-principal in reference to a porcelain toilet being vandalized, causing water to run onto the bathroom floor. A male student admitted to damaging the toilet. A summons for vandalism will be sent to the Washington County Juvenile Court.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched April 27 to 304 Putnam St. in reference to a dog bite that occurred at 116 Grandview Ave. A description of the dog and pictures of the injury were obtained and added to the case file. The case remains under further investigation.
¯ An officer was dispatched April 27 to 804 Front St. in reference to a disturbance. The officer issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Jesse Farmer for disorderly conduct fighting.
¯ A patrolman responded April 28 to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting complaint. After the investigation, it was learned a woman failed to scan $169.94 worth of household and clothing items. A summons will be issued to the suspect for theft.
¯ An officer was dispatched April 28 to 420 Franklin St. in reference to a dog bite. The officer learned that Janette Bigler, who resides at 415 Franklin St., was walking her dog when it pulled away from her and attacked a neighbor and her dog at 420 Franklin St.
¯ An officer stopped a vehicle Friday for having fictitious plates. During the stop, a K-9 indicated on the vehicle for the presence of illegal drugs. During the search, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine was located on the male driver. Officers also located more suspected meth during a search of the vehicle. The items were seized and will be sent to BCI for chemical analysis.
¯ An officer responded Friday to Jaycee Estates in reference to a menacing complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with both parties. This case remains under further investigation.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Saturday outside of the Locker Room bar in reference to a juvenile girl assaulting a woman. The woman was taken to the Marietta Memorial Hospital and a summons was requested for assault.
¯ An officer was dispatched Saturday to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with loss prevention and found that a woman and her husband failed to scan $257.50 in merchandise. A summons will be requested for the couple to appear before the Marietta Municipal Court.
¯ An officer responded Saturday to Walmart in reference to a woman shoplifter. Upon arrival and after the investigation, the officer arrested Tamra Sue Nice for theft and also for a warrant out of Virginia. She was transported to the Washington County Jail.
¯ A patrolman responded Saturday to 1001 Colonial Drive apartment C5 in reference to a welfare check on Kyle McKenna due to exigent circumstances. He was not inside the residence, but later returned home.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to Walmart in reference to a theft of $557.94 as reported from April 21. The suspects were identified on CCTV and a summons will be prepared for both suspects.
¯ Units from the Marietta Police searched for two juvenile boys Sunday who ran away from the Washington County Juvenile Center. They were out for community service on Rathbone Drive. The boys were later returned to the center by their mothers.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to Walmart in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, officers made contact with store employees and the suspect. The suspect was found to have not paid for multiple items ($41.75) and went past the last point of sale. The case remains under further investigation.
¯ An officer was dispatched Sunday to AT&T, 22 Acme St., in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who advised a man had come into the store to purchase a phone. The woman with him took the victim's airpods from a countertop in the store and left the store with the man. The woman was found and identified. The property was returned to the victim and a summons will be prepared for theft.
