Ohio State Highway Patrol

¯ On March 3 in Marietta Township, Tonda L. Kellison, 67, of 806 Elm St., Belpre, was driving a 2017 Chevy Trax southbound on Ohio 7; Nancey A. Leftwich, 58, of 121 Maple St., Belpre, was driving a 2023 Kia Soul northbound on Ohio 7; and James H. Long, 72, of 2420 Laurel Ridge Rd., Lowell, was driving a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup westbound on Ohio 550 when he failed to stop for a traffic sign as he was making a left turn and was struck by Kellison's vehicle. Kellison's car then spun left of center and was struck by Leftwich. Kellison and her passenger, Joseph Kellison, 34, both had suspected serious injuries and were transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital. Tonda Kellison was transported by Oak Grove EMS and Joseph Kellison was transported by Reno VFD. Long was charged with driving a vehicle in unsafe condition, defective brakes.

¯ James Tyshawn Carwell, 24, of 505 Ruffner Ave., Charleston, was driving a 2005 Audi 8L on the southbound off ramp from I-77 to Ohio 821 Feb. 28 in Muskingum Township when he ran off the road to the right, struck a stop sign, and left the scene. Patrol reports cited unsafe speed as a contributing factor. He was charged with operating a vehicle in wanton and willful disregard of the safety of persons or property.

¯ A 16-year-old female from Malta was driving a 2021 Buick Encore SUV southbound on County Road 75 Feb. 28 in Deerfield Township when her vehicle went off the left side of the road, over an embankment and into a ditch. She was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control.

¯ Ian K. Lockhart, 24, of 307 Fifth St., Lowell, was driving a 2013 Toyota Prius owned by Amber M. Glidden, same address, southbound on Fourth Street in Adams Township March 5 when he struck a 2020 Dodge RAM 1500 pickup legally parked off the right side of the road and owned by James W. Booth, 321 Fourth St., Lowell. Lockhart was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

¯ Randall L. Adkins, 67, of 395 Ohio 83, Beverly, was driving a 2017 Chevy Colorado pickup truck owned by Adkins Timber Products LLC, Beverly, northbound on Ohio 83 March 3 in Center Township when he failed to yield while turning left into a private drive and was struck by Mattie Newsom, 20, 409 Fort St., Beverly, driving a 2016 Honda Civic owned by Ronald L. Newsom, 1911 Ohio 83, Beverly. Adkins was charged with failure to yield the right of way when turning left.

¯ Deanna M. Jett, 43, of 2067 Burnfield Rd., Vincent, was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion owned by Tyler H.D. Jett of 2100 Burnfield Rd., Vincent, westbound on County Road 27 in Barlow Township March 2 and negotiating a left curve when she slid off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. She was charged with driving a vehicle in unsafe condition, worn or slick tires.
