¯ Ashley E. Stevens, 35, of 125 Brant Drive, Marietta, driving a 2022 Kia Seltos SUV, was eastbound on Ohio 807 in Newport Township March 29 when she failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and struck a 2018 Buick Encore SUV driven by Brenda S. Mendenhall, 55, of 901 Danas Run Road, Newport, while Mendenhall’s vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Ohio 807 and Ohio 7. Stevens was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

¯ Brent R. Stone, 54, of 6784 Bridlewood Lane, Valley City, Ohio, driving a 2015 Dodge Durango SUV owned by Katie Stone, same address, was northbound on I-77 in Salem Township March 26 when he attempted to move from the left lane into the right lane and struck the back of a 2017 Ford F-250 pickup truck owned by Asplundh Tree Experts LLC of Jasper, Ind., and driven by Bradley J. Case, 20, of 2031 Hickman Ridge Road, Duck, W.Va. Stone then ran off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail face. The patrol report notes that an improper lane change was a contributing factor. He was charged with moving lanes without assuring it could be done reasonably safely and taken by Devola EMS to Marietta Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Five passengers in Stone’s vehicle also were transported by Devola EMS for possible injuries.

¯ Eric Donald Moore, 41, of 48770 Ozark Eddy Bridge Road, Jerusalem, Ohio, was southbound on Ohio 7 in a 2023 Kia Sorento owned by Don Ean Holdings of St. Louis, Mo.,March 29 in Grandview Township when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck owned by Justin Conley of 78 Hotson Road, Mineral Wells, and driven by Jacob Linville, 27, same address. Linville was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Moore had possible injuries but was not transported for medical care.

¯ Brayden T. Lucas, 20, of 506 Five Mile Road, Rockport, was southbound on I-77 in Aurelius Township April 3 in a 2022 Toyota Camry and drove off the left side of the roadway while negotiating a curve. His vehicle struck a road sign at a crossover and came to a stop in the median. He was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control.

¯ Larry O. Danford, 82, of 6495 Ohio 260, New Matamoras, was driving a 2021 Buick Envision SUV northbound on Ohio 7 in Grandview Township March 25 when he went off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole, briefly returned to the pavement then went off the right side of the road again and struck a second utility pole. He was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control. He was taken by New Matoras EMS to Marietta Memorial Hospital for suspected minor injury. Passenger Sandra K. Danford also was transported by New Matamoras for suspected minor injury.
