Ohio State Highway Patrol
• Joseph Dean Everson, 19, of 1900 Big Run Road, Beverly, was southbound on Washington County 109 in Watertown Township Aug. 26 when his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck crossed the center line while negotiating a curve, went off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. Unsafe speed was a contributing factor, the patrol report noted. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle without being in reasonable control. Everson had possible injuries and was treated at the scene by Beverly-Waterford EMS.
• Eugene Matthew Gandee, 41, of 206 Broughton Ave., Apt. 1, Marietta, was westbound on Ohio 145 in Salem Township Aug. 21 in a 2013 Mack truck semi-tractor with cargo van, owned by Burkhart Trucking of Lowell, when he drove off the right side of the road while negotiating a curve and overturned in a ditch. A contributing factor, the patrol report noted, was that the vehicle swerved to avoid an obstacle. No charged offense was listed on the report. Gandee had possible minor injuries but was not transported or treated at the scene.
• Jamar Allen, 26, of 275 Buffalo Court, Columbus, was driving a 2019 International single unit cargo van owned by Ean Holdings and operated by Eveready Delivery of Dayton southbound on Township Road 97 in Belpre Township Aug. 23 when he drove off the right side of the road while negotiating a curve, drove back onto the roadway and then overturned off the left side of the road. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle without being in reasonable control. Allen had possible injuries and was taken to Memorial Health System-Belpre by Belpre EMS. A Columbus passenger in the truck had possible minor injuries and also was transported.
• A 2010 Dodge Charger owned by Sheryl K. Jones of of 470 Greene St., Newport, was being driven southbound on Ohio 7 in Newport Township Aug. 16 by Michael J. Spencer, 35, of 31350 Haessly Road, Hanoverton, Ohio, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a pole. Unsafe speed was a contributing factor, the patrol report noted. No traffic offense was listed on the patrol report. Spencer had possible minor injuries and was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital by Newport EMS.
• Heather L. Bina, 39, of 9650 Ohio 339, Vincent, was stopped in a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV on Ohio 339 in Belpre Township Aug. 21, waiting to turn left onto Moore Lann Road when a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Justin L. Milliron, 41, of 65 Crestwood Court, Belpre, struck Bina’s car and a guardrail. Milliron was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. The patrol report noted that Milliron also was distracted by something inside the vehicle.
• A 2015 Peterbilt 567 Commercial truck owned by Dart Trucking Co. of North Lima and driven by Kevin Ray Hieronimus, 46, of 208 Stanley St., Coal Grove, was southbound on Interstate 77 in Aurelius Township Aug. 17 when it failed to yield the right of way while changing lanes, forcing a 2018 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven southbound by Robin Gene Lashley, 44, of 56580 Amity St., Buffalo, Ohio, off the left side of the roadway. Lashley’s truck re-entered the roadway and was then struck by the Hieronimus truck. Hieronimus was charged with moving a motor vehicle from a marked lane without first making sure it was safe to do so.
