Ohio Arts Council awards $21,377 to Mid-Ohio Valley organizations

MARIETTA – Four Washington County arts and community organizations have been awarded more than $21,000 in grants from the Ohio Arts Council. Artsbridge Inc., the Betsey Mills Corp., the Civil War Round Table of the Mid-Ohio Valley and the Hippodrome Colony Historical Theatre Association, which operates Peoples Bank Theatre, received a combined $21,377. Artsbridge received the largest local award, an $11,767 Sustainability grant. Discovery World to host free Back-to-School Bash, unveil book vending machine

PARKERSBURG — Discovery World on Market will hold its fourth annual Back-to-School Bash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1. Admission to the event will be free through sponsorship from WV Central Federal Credit Union. Activities will include a bounce house, face painting by Veritas Classical Academy, balloon animals, oversized board games, music and vendors.
