Chain Breaker delivers a powerful message of the cross. The story unfolds with the announcement of the Messiah's coming to a young girl, Mary, and progresses with the birth of Jesus, the baptism by John in the Jordan River and the temptation by Satan in the desert.
Along the way, Jesus invites a rag-tag group of surly fishermen to join his mission of preaching the good news of the Kingdom of God to people far and wide. Many miracles take place including the healing of a leper, the exorcism of a demon possessed man and the raising to life of a dear friend. The surveillance and accusation of the religious leaders are never far from the action.
Jesus delivers a message of unconditional love to the down-and-outers of the day, breaking the chains of sin, shame and self-sufficiency by offering his life as ransom for all. Jesus is judged and condemned to die a gruesome death nailed to a cross. Three days later the tomb is empty. His friends are left wondering what has happened. Mourning turns into joy as Jesus is resurrected to life.
Chain Breaker is a striking and evocative story that will inspire and encourage the audience with dramatic scenes and beautiful music. The cast is comprised of seasoned veterans and new folks of all ages. Kyle Dew, who portrays Jesus said, "I never realized how intense playing the part of Jesus would be until I took on the role two years ago. Stepping into his shoes and experiencing his life and passion has changed my life dramatically."
This year's musical accompaniment will be under the direction of Muriel Bankes. Ohio Valley Opry favorite, Erica Dodge, will be joining the musicians and singers of the Passion.
Chain Breaker will have several violent and frightening scenes and may not be suited for young children.
