The Annual Great Paper Airplane Contest will be held on Sunday, March 25, in the sanctuary of First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta, 232 Third St., Marietta. Admission to the contest is the donation of a non-perishable food item for local food banks. Children and adults of all ages from throughout the area are invited to participate.

Registration will open at 12:30 p.m. and the contest will begin at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in each of the age groups for three categories of flight: 1. longest flight aloft; 2. fanciest flight; and 3. most accurate flight.

Rules: All planes must be made out of paper. Mechanical enhancements, weights or pilots of any kind will not be permitted. Be creative and bring your missile to the sanctuary and launch it from the loft. Questions, call the church office at 740-373-1238.

Church to host spaghetti dinner

First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fourth St., Marietta, will be having a spaghetti dinner and silent auction to benefit the Neighborhood Jam. The dinner will include a large dish of spaghetti, bread, salad, drink and dessert. The event will be held on April 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $4 in advance and $5 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the church weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Soup supper to benefit driveway project

A soup supper will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Second Congregational Church, located 1/4 mile past Broughton Dairy on State Route 26.

Donations will be used to repair the driveway.
