Morgan church to host gospel sing

The Church of Christ in Pennsville in Morgan County will be hosting a gospel meeting beginning Thursday, April 12, through Sunday, April 15. Start time is 7 p.m. The speaker will be Willie Franklin of Corinth, Texas, and everyone is welcome.

Free community meal April 12 at Tunnel

A free community meal (chicken) will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Tunnel United Methodist Church, located at Ohio 550 and Coffman Road. Handicapped parking is available in the upper parking lot by the church entrance. To request to have a meal delivered within a five-mile radius, leave a message at 740-374-5634.

Hoedown planned

at Betsey Mills

A "Sun Dance Hoedown" will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Betsey Mills Club.

The Green Sanctuary committee of the Unitarian Church will be sponsoring an old-fashioned line, square, and contra dance. Funds generated will be used to increase the energy efficiency of the church sanctuary and offices so the church can make the most out of the solar power they are now able to harness from their own roof. Chris Jacobs will be calling the squares and Dawn Hewitt will be calling the contras.

"Everyone is welcome, you do not need to know how to square or contra dance," said Jacobs. "We will teach anyone to dance and you don't need a partner."

Spring Revival at Whipple church

Evangelist John Bishop of Rose Bud, Ark., will be the speaker for a Spring Revival being conducted Sunday through Tuesday, April 15 to 17, at Twin Rivers Baptist Church, 110 D.A.V. Road, Whipple.

Services will begin at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday; and at 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Bishop, who came down with aseptic meningitis in October 1995, has an amazing story to tell. He lost all of his memory and had to learn to read and write, and to walk, talk and function again. He has had a long road to recovery.

Twin Rivers Baptist Church is located off Ohio 821 on D.A.V. Road, just 300 yards north of Exit 6 of Interstate 77.

Chicken and ham

dinner at Dale church

Dale United Methodist Church's annual chicken and ham dinner will be served beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 7. There will be chicken and ham, homemade noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salads, desserts, coffee and cold beverages.

Cost for adults is $7; children ages 6 to 12, it's $4; and the dinner is free for children age 5 and under. Everyone is welcome.

The church is located on Ohio 676, 10 miles west of Watertown.

Soup bean supper

at Belpre church

St. Mark's United Methodist Church will be serving a soup bean and cornbread dinner at the church, located at Third and Maple Street in Belpre. This is a Relay For Life fundraiser for the Belpre United Methodist Church Relay For Life Team, and it will be served on Sunday, April 8, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted.

Pioneer Presbyterian Church will hold its annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the church, located at 873 Farson St., Belpre. Proceeds will go toward supporting the church mission and community outreach programs.

Vienna church to host rummage, bake sale

Wayside United Methodist Church will be having a rummage sale and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the church. The church is located at 3001 Grand Central Ave. in Vienna, W.Va. Proceeds will benefit Women's Missions.

Spaghetti dinner to benefit church event

First Presbyterian Church, located at 501 Fourth St., Marietta, will be having a spaghetti dinner and silent auction to benefit the Neighborhood Jam. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. April 13. The dinner will include a large dish of spaghetti, bread, salad, drink and dessert. Tickets are $4 in advance and $5 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the church weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Gilman church to host give-away

A clothing and more give-away and community lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, in the church fellowship building at Gilman United Methodist Church. There is no cost or admission. Clothing, books, household items, etc., will be available, along with a soup and hot dog lunch.

host homecoming

Reno Christian Church will be celebrating its Homecoming on Sunday, April 15. The homecoming will feature minister Don Seevers and gospel singer Jimmy Howsom. Morning services will begin at 10 a.m., followed by lunch in the church fellowship hall. An afternoon service will immediately follow.
