Roy C. Fluharty Jr.

Roy C. Fluharty Jr., 84, of Marietta, died March 4, 2017 at the Marietta Center.

Roy was born July 29, 1932 in Marietta.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and later worked in Intelligence. Roy was active during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and worked as a Russian Linguist during the Cold War. Roy was the founding president of the Marietta Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution in 2005.

He met his wife Helen while stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. After he retired, he took a floral delivery job to keep himself busy.

Roy is survived by his nephew David Francis; niece Eva Shore; cousins Doris Jean Knight and William Robert McHenry.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2014.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 18 at 11 AM at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta, where military rights will be held. Burial at East Lawn Memorial Park. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com
