Yula Elizabeth Miller Highsmith
Highsmith
Yula Elizabeth Miller Highsmith, 93, of Marietta OH passed peacefully into the arms of The Lord, Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Yula was born September 22, 1924 to the late William “Buck” and Lillian Park Miller, in Perry Co, Indiana.
Yula will be fondly remembered by all, for her love of the Lord and the caring way she shared His love. She prided herself on remembering your name and sharing a smile with you. She enjoyed reading her Bible and the lost art of letter writing and sending cards to share her world with those she held near and dear. She humbly volunteered her time at church and for various charities over the years and took very seriously the honor of being a mighty prayer warrior.
In addition to her parents, Yula is proceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harlan W. Highsmith, Jr., who she married February 13, 1946 and who passed away February 16, 2003, three sisters, Nell Miller, Madeline Miller Bryant and Mary Miller Quante and one brother, Arthur L. Miller. She is also proceeded in death by five sister-in-laws and two brother-in-laws.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, James M. Highsmith (Deborah) of Fresno, CA and daughter, J. Michele Hupp (Rodney) of Marietta, OH, grandchildren Jennifer M. and Jeffrey M. Highsmith of Fresno, CA and Coleman A. Hupp of Marietta, OH. Surviving to continue the Miller legacy is her beloved brother, James C. Miller (Ginger) and two special nephews Bradley D. and Gregory M. Miller, one sister-in-law Joyce Highsmith of Canton, OH and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins as well as many dear friends and her brothers and sisters in Christ.
