Dr. Gary G. Waters, 67, of Belpre, died May 28, 2019 in Columbus, OH at the Ross Heart Division at Ohio State. He was born on August 14, 1951 in South Charleston, WV a son of Dolores O’Dell Waters of Lowell, OH and the late Ronald Lee Waters.

Dr. Waters was a physician serving the community for many years having graduated from the Parkersburg Community College in 1978 with an Associate in Applied Science; Glenville State College in 1982 with a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree and received his Doctor of Osteopathy from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987. He owned the Lazy G Farm in Lowell, OH where he raised Buffalo and Black Angus. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, beekeeping, and woodworking.

In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his wife, Keneta Eddy Waters; daughter Rachel (Jeremy) March of Elizabeth, WV; sons Dr. Jeremy (Meredith) Waters of Parkersburg, Joshua (Whitney) Riggs of Little Hocking; seven grandchildren, Isabella, Katie, Payton, Blake, Grayson, Reece, Liam; one brother, David (Donna) Waters of Belpre; one sister Carole Waters of Lexington, KY and his faithful companion “Ellie”.

He died with a waiting room full of family and friends just waiting to say their last good byes. His legacy does not die with him, but will live on for many generations. He has 2 living generations who want to emulate him and carry on his legacy in medicine. Many lives were touched by his compassion and kindness. We are all better people to have known and loved him. His voice was not extinguished with his death but will live on forever.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 at noon at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Dean Wagner officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, OH.

Visitation will be held Friday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
