Kathleen E. Norris, 94, passed away peacefully August 15, 2022. She was born on July 13, 1928 in rural Washington County, Ohio to the late Jordan and Eleanor (Kennedy) Croston. Although born in southern, Ohio, she spent her adult life in Canton. Kathleen worked parttime doing domestic work and nannying for families in Canton before starting her own family and after her own children started school. In addition to her parttime work, Kathleen became very active in the schools’ PTAs and working at the election polls, even after retirement. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Methodist Church in Canton. Kathleen married Gail Norris after his return from serving in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before his death in 2016. Kathleen was also preceded in death by her sister, Genevieve Parsons. Kathleen is survived by her three children, Michael (Deborah) Norris of Delanson, NY, Gloria (James) Cappy of Raleigh, NC, and Kenneth (Susie) Norris of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Lindsay Norris, Matthew (Melissa) Norris, Julianne (Seth) Varayon, Megan Cappy, Emily (Sean) Damer, and Mark Norris; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Rd. SW, Canton, OH 44710 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill, OH with burial following in the Bartlett Cemetery. Friends may also call on the family one hour prior to the services on Friday.
