Lavera “Sue” Moore
Lavera Sue Moore, 85, of Belpre, died March 2, 2023, at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville, OH.
Sue was born August 31, 1937, in Parkersburg and was the daughter of the late Richie Ware Amos and Doris Mabel Ogden-Somerville Amos.
Sue had worked in registration for St. Joseph’s Hospital, a clerk for Wood County Courts and as a caregiver for elderly residents.
Sue enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, American Idol, Jimmy Swaggart and Pat Robinson. She was faithful tithing to CBN and was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church. She loved Jesus and had a strong relationship with Him. Sue was an excellent cook and taught her children how to bake and cook. Sue was a kind and loving wife, mother and daughter and she was a doting grandmother.
Sue attended Mountain State College, where she met her husband, Samuel E Moore. They were married at her parents home, 1810 7th Street, Parkersburg, WV on January 27, 1961.
In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by her children Daniel Patrick Moore (Sally), Leah Susan Moore Balluck (Kyle), Linda Marie Moore and Sharon Elizabeth Moore; 5 grandchildren Patrick Moore (Maddie), Caitlin Moore Draesel (Jeffrey), Andrew Thomas Balluck, Ryan Joseph Balluck and Megan Kralovic (Michael Moore); brother Kermit; sisters Deanna “Blond”, Helen “Wink”, and Delores “Babe”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son Sean Moore and her sisters Mary “Sis” and Martha “Marth”, and infant sister Vivian Amos.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 6, 2023, 11:00 am at the Leavitt Funeral Home Belpre, with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery.
