Andrew Statler, 69, of Williamstown, WV, passed away on August 23, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Andy was a loving father, a dependable neighbor, and a lot of fun to be around. He was born August 18, 1954, in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Donald and Janet Statler, of Belmont, WV. Andy was a 1972 graduate of St. Marys High School, a member of the Waverly Presbyterian church, and a retired chemical operator.
Andy so loved his children and grandchildren, and never turned down the opportunity to hold a baby. He also loved West Virginia sports, the Steelers and hunting. He was a voracious reader, fond of westerns and mysteries. He enjoyed spending time by the Ohio River and visiting with his graduation class mates monthly. Andy had an intensely strong work ethic and a genuine smile that would light up a room. He had a passion for good food and good conversation.
He is survived by children, Megan (Steve) Adkins of SC, Matthew Statler of FL, and Aaron Statler of WV, grandchildren, Sadie and Vivienne Adkins, partner of over 22 years, Martha McCale, of WV, and bonus grandchildren Will, Maggie and Zachary McCale of OH, and Kayden Mace of NC, sister, Sue Statler of AZ, brother Brad (Joyce) Statler of WV, and former wife, Kim Statler of WV, nieces, a nephew, grand- nieces and nephews and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Hammett.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pleasants County Library on Saturday September 2nd from 2 – 5 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Williamston Public Library, the Pleasants County Public Library, or your local library.
