Chester B. McCormick, 94, of McConnelsville, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. He was born August 17, 1929, in Meigsville Township, Morgan County, a son of the late Chester Howard McCormick and Carrie Neely McCormick. Chet was retired fom Central Ohio Coal Com., where he worked for 39 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a long time farmer. He enjoyed caining and wood working. During his lifetime, he donated over 28 gallons of blood. He was a member of the Neelysville Grange for many years. Chet was also a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church, United Mine Workers Union and the American Legion Post #24 of McConnelsville. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Dorotha Burkheimer McCormick, two sons Micheal B. (Ronda) McCormick of McConnelsville, Thomas O. McCormick of Findlay, two step grandchildren Matthew Downs and Dylan Downs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Mark Steven McCormick, three sisters Mabel Glenn, Rachel Wortman, Florence McInturf, and a brother Frank N. McCormick. Friends and family may call Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 12-1 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with pastor Galen Finley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross.
