Lita Joan Stotts

Lita Joan Stotts went home to Jesus on December 11, 2023, at age 90. She was a caring and giving wife, mother and grandmother who always put the needs of her family before her own. Joan was a strong woman who supported her husband and family through the many passions and difficulties in their lives. She was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Joan was born to Freddie and Wava Oliver on January 22, 1933, in Sarahsville, Ohio. In 1952, she married Keith and together they went on to have two sons, Clint, and Shane. Keith and Joan were married for over 70 years. Joan was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

In addition to being a dedicated wife and loving mother, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Joan loved staying actively involved in various volunteer roles at Grand Central Church of Christ in Vienna and volunteered in the development office at Ohio Valley College. Joan was a tireless worker in the church and together her and Keith created a legacy at Ohio Valley College/University with over 40 years of dedicated leadership and service to the institution.

Joan joins her parents, Freddie and Wava in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Keith, her sisters, Delores and Martha, her children, Clint (Julie) and Shane (Traci) and her four grandchildren, Kaley, Aidan, Rachel, and Paige who brought such joy to her life and meant the world to her.

A memorial service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held on December 16, 2023 at The Grand Central Church of Christ at 5:00 PM. Memorial visitation will be held at the church from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Grand Central Church of Christ Building Fund, 5808 Grand Central Ave Vienna WV 26105.
