Stephen William Beck

Stephen William Beck went to the metal shop of his dreams on December 11, 2023. He was born on May 29, 1956, in Marietta to Roger and Betty Swartz Beck. The family moved to Kokomo, Indiana where Stephen and his sister, Elizabeth, grew up. Stephen graduated from Western High School and the family returned to Whipple, Ohio, where Stephen attended Marietta College, studying physics.

Stephen worked as a technician for Marietta College for 33 years and retired in 2016. He embodied kindness, patience, and had an endless supply of eye-rolling jokes. He loved working in his shop and tinkering with anything mechanical.

Stephen married the love of his life, Tammy Lee, on November 9, 2013, and they did not have nearly enough time together. He is survived by his daughter Sarah, son Bill, stepdaughter Stajah and stepson Daniel. He loved being a grandpa and will be sorely missed by Fiona, Rowan, and Chapman. A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at the Williamstown Church of Christ at 12 pm on Saturday January 13, 2024.
