David Lynn Clift

David Lynn Clift, 75, of Newport, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2024, at his home.

David was born April 26, 1949, in Newport, Ohio to Berl and Grace Clift.

He was one of the last classes to graduate from Newport High School. Following high school, David enlisted in the United State Army and was stationed in Germany.

He married Carol Murphy on March 2, 1985.

David was the foreman of the grounds crew at the Marietta Country Club. He enjoyed whittling and spending time with his family and friends.

David will be deeply missed by his daughter April Lindsey; grandchildren Trevor Null, Bryce Nyswaner and Carolyn Lindsey; brother Jody Clift and sister Pam Clift.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife Carol Clift.

Friends may call Thursday, May 30th from 12 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
