Frederick R. Schweikert

Frederick R. Schweikert, 89, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Waterview Point in Marietta. He was born on December 21, 1934, in Watertown, Ohio, son of Albert Claire (Bob) Schweikert and Mattie Leget Schweikert. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1953 and had served in the US Army. He had been a painter for 30 years and later was custodian for Wolf Creek School District for 30 years where he retired. He was also clerk for the Watertown Cemetery and had taken care of the cemetery for many years. Fred also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events. On December 7, 1963, he was married to Martha J. Simpson and enjoyed 60 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Dan Schweikert and wife Jenni of Hendersonville, NC and Doug Schweikert and wife Chris of Waterford; a daughter, Darla Barker and husband Jeff of Watertown; seven grandchildren, Drew Schweikert (McKenzie), Brad Schweikert (Taylor), Cortney Korns (Tyler), Kim Barker, Cole Schweikert and Riley Schweikert and Ella Schweikert; four great grandchildren, Eli, Landon, Asher and Noah; a brother in law, Francis Simpson (Laura) and a sister in law, Teresa Stanley (Bob). He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Fred will be announced at a later date and burial will be in the Watertown Cemetery.
