Maxwell Albert Rossi, known to all who knew him as Max, passed away on July 24, 2024, in Long Beach, California, at the age of 30. Born on August 25, 1993, in Columbus, Ohio, Max grew into a friendly, funny, and genuinely curious individual who had a remarkable affinity for animals and a knack for forming genuine connections with everyone he met.
Max attended St. Mary Catholic School followed by Marietta Senior High School and Ohio University, where he began to cultivate his varied interests. Professionally, Max dedicated himself to the care and wellbeing of pets, working at pet stores from Ohio to California, where his commitment to customer service and animal care was evident to all who entered.
Beyond his work, Max was an avid skateboarder, a collector of trading cards, and enjoyed frisbee golf and tide-pooling along the shores of California. His hobbies were a reflection of his adventurous spirit and his fascination with the natural world.
Max is survived by his father, John Rossi; his mother, Buffi Segal (Perry); and his siblings, Mallory Barbuto (Tony), Angelo Rossi (Tiffany), Gillian Rossi (Earl), and Brooke Rossi. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Radcliff.
A Celebration of Life will be held in 2025. Max will be remembered for this kind demeanor, his curiosity about the world and the people in it, and his exceptional passion and care for animals. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
