Sarah Almeda Krieg, 96, of Sardis, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at WVU Camden Clark Hospital Parkersburg, West Virginia. Sarah was born December 4, 1927, to Thomas & Evaline Wohnhas Hamilton of the Jackson Ridge area, Woodsfield, Ohio.
Sarah was a 1946 graduate of Woodsfield High School and was able to attend her 75th Woodsfield Alumni Class Reunion in 2021. Sarah worked at Bayes Family Restaurant in Woodsfield. It was there that she met and married her husband of 65 years, L. Bernard Krieg on December 7, 1946. To their union, 5 children were born. Sharon, Alan, Mark, Bruce and Sheila.
Sarah loved working in her garden, canning and taking care of her family and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Brownsville Church of Christ and attended the senior luncheons, while able, at the Midway Community Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on December 26, 2012, son-in-law, Frank Maleyrick and grandson Timothy Maleyrick, sisters: Laura Bach, Geneva Lyons, Gertrude, Eunice and Goldia Hamilton brothers, Vernon, Thomas, Horace, Neil and infant brother, Oscar.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Sharon Maleyrick, Sheila (Brian) Turner and sons, Alan (Debby), Mark (Sherry) and Bruce (Vicki). Grandchildren, Jessica, Alisha, Jeremy, Monica, Angie, Sarah, Nathan, Eric, Derek, Ryan, Kyle, Paul, Anna, Adam and Miranda. Great Grandchildren: Jake, Gage, James, Darryl, Elizabeth, Michael, Lauren, Sydney, Taylor, Julius, Freya, Bowen, Addie, Alice, Michael, Rachel, Kennedy, Avery, Miles, Hanky, Weslee, Charlie Ann, Jaxon, Lanie, Emmett and Ellie and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 3 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024 with Tim Fleeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mehrley Cemetery Fly, Ohio.
