Edythe Eileen Kuroski, 81, of Marietta, OH, passed away peacefully at home on September 12, 2024. She was born in Akron, OH June 30, 1943, to the late Ralph L. Trippett and Mary E. Collins Trippett. The family moved to Marietta in 1955. Edythe often shared fond memories of the Akron childhood farm where the family grew and sold grapes.
Edythe graduated from Marietta High School in 1960. After graduation she went on to work for Attorney T. Blake Summers. Later Edythe opened and operated the areas first privately owned and licensed children's day care nursery in the area. After operating the Little Folks Day Care for 18 years Edythe then went on to retire from the Clerk of Courts Office at the Washington County Court House.
Edythe married her lifelong love, James (Jim) Kuroski, Sr. on August 11, 1962. Upon Jim's recent passing she shared, 'I loved him from the moment I saw him'. She proved that to be true by never wavering on her true love for him. Edythe shared that same deep and loyal love for her parents, sisters, children (and their spouses) and her grandchildren. Edythe also shared a special love with her nieces, nephews and their spouses and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Edythe is survived by her children Debbie (Pat) Walsh, Jennifer (Jim) Kimmons and Jim (JoEllen) Kuroski Jr, 3 grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Smith, Alexis Walsh (fiance Raaj Patel) and Evan Kuroski. Additionally, Edythe is survived by her sisters Neva Sandford and Wanda Trippett, sister-in-law Penny (John) Merrifield, brother-in-law Richard Woody and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great niece.
In addition to her parents Edythe was preceded in death by sisters Shirley L. Trippett, Nancy R. Dye and Joy E. Trippett, father-in-law Henry (Doc) Kuroski, mother-in-law Helen Stanley Kuroski, sisters-in laws Mary Jean Finnerin, Dorothy Woody, Rowena Kuroski, brothers-in-law John Kuroski, Bob Finnerin and C. Lynn Sandford, nephews Robert Sandford, Ralph Trippett and John Kuroski.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Kelli Cawley (and her staff) and Dr. Amado Maijub for their compassionate and loving care.
A celebration of life will be held on October 19th, 2024, at the Betsey Mills Club from 1:00 to 4:00. A prayer and song will take place at 2:00.
