Joan Rouse, age 86, of Sunbury, Ohio, and formerly of Graysville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at the Country View of Sunbury.

Born on March 12, 1938, to the late Oscar and Vesta Taylor, Joan's life was deeply rooted in her Christian faith. From a young age, she knew and loved Jesus, and her relationship with Christ became the guiding force in her life. In 1962, she became a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, where she spent countless hours in service to others through various volunteer roles. Joan's faith shaped her entire life, and she radiated the love of Christ in all she did.

Family was Joan's greatest joy and priority. She dedicated her life to raising her five beloved children and finding happiness in her grandchildren. Her steadfast commitment to her family and her strong work ethic were reflections of her inner strength, determination, and boundless love. Joan's legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Neil Rouse; her two sons, Jeffrey Neil Rouse and Eric Jason Rouse; her sisters, Mary Hay of Florida and Nancy Carol Anderson of Ohio; and her brother, Don Taylor of Ohio.

She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Warfield of Massillon, Ohio, and Brenda (Bryan) Sutton of Norwalk, Ohio; her brother, Jerry Taylor of Ocala, Florida; her children, Tom (Stephanie) Rouse of Woodsfield, Ohio, Rhonda Davis of Hilliard, Ohio, and April McColl of Waterford, Ohio; as well as 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan's life was a testament to her deep and unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her commitment to serving others. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held at Hadley Funeral Homes, 700 Main Street, New Matamoras, Ohio, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at First Baptist Church, 400 Broadway Avenue, New Matamoras, Ohio, on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made at hadleyfh.com.
