B. Ralph Gentry, born January 27,1934, in Mingo County, West Virginia, passed away October 22, 2024.
After spending his early years in Virginia, the family moved to Belpre, Ohio, where Ralph began high school. A dedicated athlete, he played on the first-ever Belpre football team and was a member of the state champion track team.
In 1956, Ralph married Joyce Oldaker Gentry. Together, they had two sons: Dr. Michael Gentry of South Carolina and Gregory (Amy) Gentry of Marietta, Ohio.
Ralph enjoyed a successful career, working for Shell Chemical for 24 years and later retiring as plant manager at Huntsman Chemical. A passionate traveler, he visited all 50 U.S. states and 28 countries in Europe.
Ralph was a 69-year member of the Masonic Lodge 609 in Belpre, Ohio.
Ralph and Joyce celebrated 68 years of marriage, and their love extended to their sons, 10 grandchildren: Jill Gentry, Josh Gentry, Holly (Andrew) Hamrick, Alex (Kelsey) Gentry, Christian (Marisa) Gentry, Zach Gentry, Brad Gentry, Sydney (Noah) Fullerton, Ryan Gentry, and Nathan Gentry, and 10 great-grandchildren.
His family will forever miss "Grandad Ralph".
Family Services will be held at a later date.
