Esther Pauline (Rufener) Briggs, 97, of Marietta, OH, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1927 in Sardis, OH, to the late Henry and Ida (Bachman) Rufener. She retired from Irene's Fashions. She was a charter member of Harmar Hill Church of Christ and Stepping Stones of Ohio Valley University. She was active with the Ohio Valley Christian Youth Camp. She married Glenn Briggs on July 20, 1947, who preceded her in death December 21, 2010. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Semon of Marietta, OH, and Sharon (Ken) Huckaba of Bartlett, TN, and one granddaughter Ashley (M.J.) Metts of Marietta, OH. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Norma Jones, son-in-law Fred Semon and granddaughter Jennifer Huckaba. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike Street, Marietta, OH, with burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Harmar Hill Church of Christ, 200 Edgewood Dr. Marietta, OH.
