Stephanie Ann Coil, 52, passed away on October 14, 2024, surrounded by her family, due to complications from pneumonia and congenital heart failure. She was born on May 20, 1972, in Marietta, Ohio. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1990 and then attended Washington State Community College. In her pre-teen years, Stephanie was open to trying several different activities and had diverse interests which included playing softball, taking piano lessons, and having an afternoon paper route with the Marietta Times. After high school, Stephanie worked as a telephone Operator for AT&T before settling into her final career as an Items Processor for Peoples Bank. Stephanie was an avid reader and film fan and had nearly an encyclopedic memory regarding pop culture and trivia. However, she most enjoyed spending time with her family. This included not only her immediate family, but her family in Florida. Her favorite place to visit was Sarasota, Florida and she had hoped to return there prior to her untimely passing. Stephanie also had a great love for dogs and enjoyed spending quality time with all of the family pets over the years.
Her family will miss her greatly and will remember her for her perseverance, her quick wit and conversational skills, her unique Christmas gifts, and her kindness and humility.
Stephanie is survived by her mother, Judy Coil, her brother Rob Coil (Nicole) of Marietta, niece Meredith, and nephew Adam Coil. She is also survived by her cousin, John Coil (Heather) of Tampa, Florida, and their two children Jagger and Hadley Coil. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Coil; grandparents Harold and Zelma Coil of Marietta; and George and Ruth Slater of Marietta; Uncle Gary Coil of Sarasota, Florida, and Uncle Steve Slater.
The family would also like to thank the compassionate and hard-working nurses and physicians at Marietta Memorial Hospital who provided her care while in the ICU.
Per her wishes, there will be a private family graveside service at Putnam Cemetery at a later date.
