Crystal "Chris" D. Long, 60, of Fort Myers, Fl, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024. Crystal was born August 19, 1964, to Jacob Arnold and Karen Swain.
Always up for an adventure, after many years in the Mid-Ohio Valley, Chris has called Florida her home since 2021. She loved being near the water, whether it be the ocean, a river, a lake, or simply out back by the pool. She adored her two grandchildren and loved spending time with family and friends. Brenda Dean was her lifelong friend from Ohio. They worked together and she helped Chris get accustomed to the Florida lifestyle when she moved to Ft. Myers. Chris was an avid gardener and took great joy and pride in her gardening creations. She was so proud when she won the Whiskey Creek Community Garden Award last October. Chris was also an avid cook and regularly prepared meals on the Holidays for everyone, especially for those that had no place else to go. Everyone always left with a smile and an extra plate of food. Chris had a very generous heart and lived life to its fullest.
Chris is preceded in passing by her father Jacob, mother Karen, uncle Mike Eleftheriou, aunt Connie Arnold, and several other loved ones.
Chris leaves her loving memory with her closest survivors including boyfriend Mark Fischer, son Tony Long, daughter-in-law Erin Long, grandchildren Mirra and Amari Long, stepfather Tom Swain, aunt Eva Eleftheriou, cousins Angela Arnold, Paul (Beth) Eleftheriou, and Nitsa (Philip) Alexandrou, dear friend Charlene Mears, and several wonderful friends in Florida as well as the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Chris's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of her final arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Half Shelf Lounge, 1956 Park Meadows Drive in Fort Myers from 2 to 5 PM on November 17th, 2024. Chris loved animals and in honor of her memory we are accepting donations at her Celebration for Life for the Animal Refuge Center in North Ft. Myers.
