Henri Theophile Fontaine, Jr., 89, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 17, 1935 in Wheeling, WV to the late Henri Theophile and Elberta Marshall Fontaine, Sr.

Henri was a graduate of McKinley Vocational Trade School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps, from 1955 to 1958, and then transferred to the reserves. Henri retired from John Manville in Vienna, WV. He was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed reading, gardening and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.

He survived by his wife, Donna Poland Fontaine, whom he married on July 15, 1961; two children, Kimberly Peters (Don) and Michael Fontaine (Kathie); five grandchildren, Kyle Peters (Jocelyn), Kassidy Peters, Micah (Tavaris), Ashley and Michael Fontaine; nine great grandchildren, Terrian, Tavian, Carter, Arianna, Johnathan, Amiyah, Jayla, Bradley and Aleenah; brother, Gerald Fontaine (Mary); and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME. Burial in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors will follow the services. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
