Ruth Ellen Best, 88, of Marietta, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born April 4, 1936, in Marietta to the late Richard and Dorothy Parks Cunningham. Ellen worked at the Washington County Courthouse in the Auditor's Office and loved bowling and sewing. She is survived by her sons Garry (Becky) and Larry Best, grandchildren Nicole (Matt) Taylor and Justin and Nathan Best, great grandchildren Dawson and Hayes Taylor, sister Kaye (Tom) Fouss and a brother Dwayne Cunningham. In addition to her parents Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, granddaughter Shea Best and a daughter-in-law Maxine. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Friday, November 22, 2024, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike Street, with Pastor Kevin D'Ettorre officiating, burial to follow in Salem Township Cemetery.
