Laura "Jimmy" Brown, 97, of Flatwoods, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital in Gassaway, West Virginia. She was born September 12, 1927, in Flatwoods, West Virginia. She attended Sutton High School and graduated with the class of 1946. She worked at Westinghouse and Owens Glass Company located in Fairmont, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Woodall; mother, Pearl Woodall; brother, Claude "Woody" Woodall Jr., and sister, Norma Culver. She enjoyed spending time with family, going to the beach and collecting seashells, going to yard sales, sewing, baking, and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia Mountaineers. Laura married Jack Brown from Rivesville, West Virginia in 1946. They have two daughters, Kim Buran and Cynthia Brown; grandchildren, Heather Napalo and Rachel Pannell; great grandchildren, Jaiden and Kamron Napalo, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends. In accordance with Laura's wishes, cremation will be observed with no services. The family wishes to thank Braxton County Memorial Hospital staff for their compassionate care.
