James Harley McIntire
James Harley McIntire, 96, of Baltimore, Ohio, died on Friday, February 21, 2025 at his home. He was born on February 3, 1929 in Parkersburg, WV, son of James Herbert McIntire and Rhoda Mae Lowe McIntire. He was retired from Pittsburgh Glass Company after 22 years of service and was a member of the Teamsters Union for 33 years. He enjoyed farming and cutting wood with his father at an early age and at 16 he worked at a factory painting shovels. He loved woodworking and at 87, he was making baskets. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandparents at Blennerhassett Island. James was always kind and considerate, never turned away family or strangers needing help or finances and was always a friend to call. James is survived by his wife, Donna Ruff McIntire whom he married on December 5, 2006; a son, James Russell “Butch” McIntire and wife Margie of Westerville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jack, Sarah, Holly, Donnie and Chad; three step grandchildren, Susie Kehn, Don King and Dan King and their families; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Denise Guangenti; four sisters, Virginia Sadler, Dorothy Pugh, Jaunita Foreman and Naomi Anderson; and a brother, Kenneth Roy McIntire; and his dog Snuffy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Jim Porter officiating. Burial will be in the Barlow Cemetery. Friends may call from 11am until 1pm on Wednesday before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairhope Hospice at 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
