Josylin “Josie” Ash Cunningham, 26, of Coolville, Ohio died on Feb 5, 2025 in a motor vehicle accident. Josie was loved by all who knew her, and can be remembered by her gentleness, kindness, joyful laugh, and her quiet nature. Josie attended Salem Liberty Elementary, Fort Frye, and was homeschooled for many years graduating in June of 2017.
Josie is the beloved daughter of Randal and Jill Treadway of Lowell. She is also survived by her brother Gage ( Kryssa) Treadway of Marietta. She is the granddaughter of Mary Schofield of Marietta, and Sheri Treadway of Lowell. Josie is also survived by her loving husband of 5 1/2 years Dustin Cunningham, and her 1 year old son Jude of Coolville. She is also survived by her sister in law Erika Cunningham of Coolville. Additionally she is survived by her in laws Eric and Joy Cunningham of Coolville, and by her grandmother through marriage Patty Cunningham of Coolville. Jack and Jean Mason of Belpre.
Josie was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and exuded joy and love. She graduated from Washington State Community College and received an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy with honors in May of 2019. On Oct 12, 2019 she married Dustin Allen Cunningham. They resided in Marietta for a little while before building their home on the Cunningham family farm in Coolville. Josie grew to love the farming lifestyle and would often talk about her life on the farm, the animals, and canning food from the garden. On June 10, 2023 she gave birth to her son Jude Allen Cunningham. He was the delight of her life, and she was a dedicated mother and wife. Her patience as a mother stood out to those who knew her, as well as her love for the Lord. It wasn’t uncommon to find her in a quiet nook spending time in her Bible. She spent a lot of time teaching Jude songs about Jesus, and how to pray. Josie was preceded in death by her grandfathers Joe Schofield of Marietta, and David Treadway of Lowell.
She was also preceded in death by her grandfather through marriage Larry Cunningham of Coolville. Josie will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her. Josie was in her second trimester of pregnancy with her son Silas Larry Cunningham at the time of her sudden death, making this loss of two more tragic and difficult. She made a difference in all the lives she touched as a Respiratory Therapist, coworker, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, cousin, sister in Christ and family member. She will forever be deeply loved and cherished. Josie’s greatest desire would be that others loved and obeyed Jesus as she did. Because of the benefits Josie and Dustin received during the medical issues with Jude, they would ask that any charitable donations be made in her behalf to Ronald McDonald house.
